MARC Notepad: Add-On Product

The MARC Notepad is an add-on product to BookWhere which allows you to edit MARC records.  It is the perfect complement to BookWhere.  MARC Notepad is a simple and efficient editing tool for working with MARC records downloaded from the BookWhere Bibliographic Client (sold separately).  MARC Notepad allows you to perform quick edits and add local holdings information at the point of capture.

MARC Notepad v2.5 has support for Unicode and allows for record conversion from MARC-8, Latin-1 extended and Unicode. It is able to clean up large batches of records in a couple of keystrokes. Templates can be created.

  work with files of MARC records from other sources or extracted from your local system (files must be in MARC communications format)

Z39.50 Protocol is an industry standard system which allows dissimilar library databases to share information.  Essentially it makes library databases freely available over the world wide web.
