12.0.2 Update

This update is available to Reference Manager 12 users and includes improvements that allow you to work more efficiently.

• Insert Reference IDs for intext citations quickly and format the bibliography at a later time.
• Use Reference Manager 12 with Track Changes in Word—improved compatibility with Comments.
• Save time with Reference Manager 12 keyboard shortcuts that now work in both Word and Reference Manager.
• Cite While You Write in Microsoft Word on 64-bit computers—eliminate the slowness when switching between applications.
• Format documents in Word 2007 without interruption—the refocus on the bibliography is corrected.
• Set Cite While You Write "Preferences" to close Reference Manager when closing Word.

The 12.0.2 patch will update an existing installation of Reference Manager 12 to 12.0.2. Another option is to open Reference Manager 12 and go to the Help Menu and choose "Updates" to install the update.

 

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS :

Single User and Network (Workstation) Version

1. Click on the Download link below.  Save the file to your hard drive.  Close all other programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. You can also use Help, Updates in Reference Manager to install the update.
   
   NOTE: Be sure to disable the Web Publisher within Reference Manager before attempting to update.
   
2. Double-click on the downloaded Zip file to view the contents.  Extract the RM1202Patch.msp to your desktop.
   
3. Double-click on the RM1202Patch.msp to automatically install the update.

 

Concurrent Version

1. Click on the Download link below.  Save the file to your hard drive.  Close all other programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. You can also use "Start Menu->Programs->Reference Manager 12 Network->Update Reference Manager 12 Network" to install the update.
   
   NOTE: Be sure to disable the Web Publisher within Reference Manager before attempting to update.
   
2. Unzip the RM1202NetPatch.msp file and run the patch installer.
   
3. Workstations installed from that point will be updated properly.

If you have deployed the workstation already, run RM1202WksPatch.msp on any workstations where the program is installed before the patch was applied to the server.

Reference Manager 12.0.1 does not restore support for Word Perfect. See our latest news here.

Once the patch is installed, you can verify the tools are installed by doing the following:
Word 2003
Open Word and go to the Tools menu->Reference Manager 12->Cite While You Write Preferences. The "File Version" on this screen will read "12.0.0.4030"
Word 2007
Open Word and go to the Reference Manager 12 ribbon and choose "Preferences". The "File Version" on this screen will read "12.0.0.4030"
